Basket Improvisation
Completion of Tribal Fundamentals (or comparable bellydance skill) is required before taking this class.

We will spend these six weeks learning combos specific to basket improvisation. By the end of this session you will be able to dance with your basket, both balancing it on your head and holding it in your hands, doing traditional movements reminiscent of harvesting and gathering in many cultures. Creating unique group combos will also be a part of this learning experience.

Hip Work-Lower Body Technique

Completion of Tribal Fundamentals 1 & 2 (or comparable bellydance skill) is required before taking this class.

Hip Work-Lower body Technique covers basic traditional bellydance hip movements not taught in the Tribal format. These movements are not required to complete any of the Tribal style classes, but are required skills for several of the special choreography classes which will be offered periodically. Hip work will only be offered when a choreography class is being planned for the following session, or upon special request with a minimum of six students.

Veil Choreography/Improvisation
Completion of Tribal Fundamentals and Hip Work-Lower Body Technique (or comparable bellydance skill) is required before taking this class.

We will spend these six weeks learning an entire veil choreography. Dancing with veils is a beautiful experience, and as a group accentuates the beauty with a plethora of color. All movements learned in the choreography can be used in your own personal dance and will give you inspiration for creating your own veil movements. You’ll also be given an opportunity to teach your very own created movements to the class.

Huntress Choreography
Completion of Tribal Fundamentals 1 & 2 and Hip Work-Lower Body Technique (or comparable bellydance skill) is required before taking this class.

We will spend these six weeks learning the Huntress choreography as created by Peanut Butter & Gypsy founder Anna Nummelin. This dance expresses both the beauty and strength of women, and empowers the dancer to express her aggressive powerful nature in the form of dance.

Candle Dancing
Completion of Tribal Fundamentals 1 & 2 and Hip Work-Lower Body Technique (or comparable bellydance skill) is required before taking this class.

We will spend these six weeks learning a choreography that also includes improvisation sections. By the end of this session you will be able to dance with your candles to the choreographed music or to your own chosen music through improvisation. Creating unique combos for improvisation will also be a part of this learning experience.
